Hi, my name is Carla Morales. I was born in Spain and raised in the US. I’ve always had a strong passion for creativity. Over the years, I have enjoyed painting, filmmaking, writing, and baking. Now I have started learning about fashion design, where I combine self-expression and storytelling to create garments.

My fashion journey started self-taught at home, making wallets, bags, and pajama sets. This hobby quickly evolved into a full creative pursuit as I fell in love with the intricate artistry behind clothing. I was fortunate to study under Kendall Barry in the Fashion Careers course, an inspiring mentor who worked for companies like Michael Kors and now owns a luxury swimwear brand. In this class, I learned fashion history, design principles, illustrating croquis, sewing techniques, draping, and how to create a collection.

My biggest passion is sustainable fashion, a responsible and beautiful way to honor the planet. This summer, I’ll take a major step forward by attending the IED Fashion Creative Lab in Milan. Here, I will study sustainable practices in the fashion industry and advanced sewing and draping techniques. I’m so excited to be surrounded by sustainable innovation, culture, and creativity.

In the fall, I’ll begin my next chapter at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I’ll study fashion design, marketing, and fibers. My dream is to one day build a fashion brand that embodies my passion for art and sustainability. Thank you for supporting my creative journey!
